For those with genetic predisposition to breast cancer we offer a high risk breast cancer clinic to develop your personalized risk-management plan. If you decide to have prophylactic surgery, we specialize in hidden scar mastectomy, working side by side with our plastic and reconstructive surgery colleagues to give you a piece of mind and a sense of wholeness.

If you are faced with a new diagnosis of breast cancer, you will be offered many treatment choices. It is easy to become confused in the sea of information which may or may not be pertinent to your situation. Helping you understand your choices so you feel in control and comfortable is our goal. Serving as a research site, we use a method called “patient shared decision making” championed by The Dartmouth Hitchock Center for Shared Decision Making. While it takes patience and extra care, the process adds value and improves your chances for success. Your satisfaction with your outcome is greater when the you make decisions based on your personal needs, not the doctor’s.

We believe that transparency helps solve problems. Transparency is a matter of trust. If your surgeon can’t be transparent about her breast surgery outcomes then it is time to ask why.
